I then removed trailing white space from math/tgmath.h, support/tst-support-open-dev-null-range.c, and sysdeps/x86_64/multiarch/strlen-vec.S, to work around the following obscure pre-commit check failure diagnostics from Savannah. This patch refactors the *cvt functions implementation in a way that makes it easier to re-use them for implementing the IEEE long double on powerpc64le. By removing the macros that generate the function names (APPEND combined with FUNC_PREFIX), the new code makes it easier to define new function names, such as __qecvtieee128. Tested that installed stripped binaries for all build-many-glibcs targets remain identical before and after this patch. Also tested for powerpc64le and x86_64. Reviewed-by: Paul E. Murphy <murphyp@linux.ibm.com>

This patch converts various miscellaneous functions definitions in glibc, found with grep and not covered by my previous scripted conversions, from old-style K&R to prototype-style. These changes were made manually. This is not necessarily exhaustive as formatting variants may have prevented my grep from finding some such definitions. Regarding the changes to files from GMP, they may originally have been omitted when removing __STDC__ conditionals because of the files coming from another package, but (a) GMP no longer has __STDC__ conditionals there anyway and (b) we don't try to keep these files verbatim in sync with GMP (and there are licensing differences), so making the change to them in glibc seems reasonable. The functions ecvt, fcvt and gcvt, in some standards, bring in references to ecvt_r and fcvt_r, which aren't in any of those standards. The calls are correctly to __ecvt_r and __fcvt_r, but then the names ecvt_r and fcvt_r are defined as strong aliases; this patch changes them to weak aliases. Tested for x86_64 and x86 (testsuite, and that disassembly of installed stripped shared libraries is unchanged by the patch).
