I used these shell commands:
../glibc/scripts/update-copyrights $PWD/../gnulib/build-aux/update-copyright

and then ignored the output, which consisted lines saying "FOO: warning:
copyright statement not found" for each of 7061 files FOO.
I then removed trailing white space from math/tgmath.h,
support/tst-support-open-dev-null-range.c, and
sysdeps/x86_64/multiarch/strlen-vec.S, to work around the following
obscure pre-commit check failure diagnostics from Savannah. I don't
know why I run into these diagnostics whereas others evidently do not.

math/test-misc.c contains some code that uses fenv.h macros
FE_UNDERFLOW, FE_OVERFLOW and FE_UPWARD without being conditional on
those macros being defined.
That would normally break the build for configurations (typically
soft-float) not defining those macros. However, the code in question
is inside LDBL_MANT_DIG > DBL_MANT_DIG conditionals. And, while we
have configurations lacking rounding mode and exception support where
LDBL_MANT_DIG > DBL_MANT_DIG (soft-float MIPS64 and RISC-V), those
configurations currently define the fenv.h macros in question even for
soft-float.
There may be some case for defining those macros in cases where a
soft-float compilation could use a hard-float libm (where both
soft-float and hard-float can use the same ABI, as on ARM and RISC-V,
for example). But MIPS is not such a case - the hard-float and
soft-float ABIs are incompatible - and thus I am testing a patch to
stop defining those macros for soft-float MIPS (motivated by reducing
the extent to which architectures need their own definitions of
math-tests.h macros - if lack of rounding mode / exception support can
be determined by the lack of macros in fenv.h, that avoids the need
for math-tests.h to declare that lack as well). Introducing a case of
LDBL_MANT_DIG > DBL_MANT_DIG without these macros defined shows up the
problem with math/test-misc.c. This patch then fixes that problem by
adding appropriate conditionals.
Tested for MIPS64 in conjunction with changes to stop defining the
macros in question in bits/fenv.h for soft-float.

These are a grab bag of changes where the testsuite was using internal
symbols of some variety, but this was straightforward to fix, and the
fixed code should work with or without the change to compile the
testsuite under _ISOMAC.
Four of these are just more #include adjustments, but I want to highlight
sysdeps/powerpc/fpu/tst-setcontext-fpscr.c, which appears to have been
written before the advent of sys/auxv.h. I think a big chunk of this file
could be replaced by a simple call to getauxval, but I'll let someone who
actually has a powerpc machine to test on do that.
dlfcn/tst-dladdr.c was including ldsodefs.h just so it could use
DL_LOOKUP_ADDRESS to print an additional diagnostic; as requested by Carlos,
I have removed this.
math/test-misc.c was using #ifndef NO_LONG_DOUBLE, which is an internal
configuration macro, to decide whether to do certain tests involving
'long double'. I changed the test to #if LDBL_MANT_DIG > DBL_MANT_DIG
instead, which uses only public float.h macros and is equivalent on
all supported platforms. (Note that NO_LONG_DOUBLE doesn't mean 'the
compiler doesn't support long double', it means 'long double is the
same as double'.)
tst-writev.c has a configuration macro 'ARTIFICIAL_LIMIT' that the
Makefiles are expected to define, and sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/Makefile
was using the internal __getpagesize in the definition; changed to
sysconf(_SC_PAGESIZE) which is the POSIX equivalent.
ia64-linux doesn't supply 'clone', only '__clone2', which is not
defined in the public headers(!) All the other clone tests have local
extern declarations of __clone2, but tst-clone.c doesn't; it was
getting away with this because include/sched.h does declare __clone2.
* nss/tst-cancel-getpwuid_r.c: Include nss.h.

This patch modifies several test cases to use test-skeleton.c.
It was generated by a bash script written for this purpose and
thus excludes several other tests which I deemed worth a visual
inspection before making the change.
I intend to follow up with individual patches to the tests
skipped by the script.
The script itself resides at http://git.io/WODAmg and should
reproduce this very patch when run against master.

This is the first of a series of patches to ban ieee854_long_double
and the ieee854_long_double macros when using IBM long double. union
ieee854_long_double just isn't correct for IBM long double, especially
when little-endian, and pretending it is OK has allowed a number of
bugs to remain undetected in sysdeps/ieee754/ldbl-128ibm/.
This changes the few places in generic code that use it.

For some tests, just claim that fetestexcept() always returns true,
so the rest of the test can be compiled.
For libm-test, provide known bogus values for unsupported rounding
modes, so fesetround() will return failure.
Elsewhere, just add some #ifdefs to avoid code that uses particular
